Journey to the North of Spain – Summer 2014

What would my life be like if i had settled down somewhere else years ago? Had i kept working in Los Angeles or New York for example. Or if i had followed lovers abroad and made a living in there.

In the everyday routine of work-home-kids-pool-friends and family life there's hardly a second to dwell on the would-be's of our track left behind - perhaps, who knows?! there might exist parallel worlds vibrating at different frequencies in other dimensions in which we are actually living right now if we had taken other paths drifting apart and merging together like the curly, twisted stems of a magic bean-  but just about to set off on a summer holiday journey it's easy to wonder and indulge yourself on foggy shorelines and beaches like the mists of Avalon.

Therefore, as i was walking my dog across the nearby wheat fields, surrounding woods and hills, i came to a stop and looked around; i said thank you to the universe for being able to admire the peaks of Montserrat to the West, shaped a couple of hundreds of millions of years back when rolling stones, dragged along the stream of rivers, were glued together by presure and the water level lowered down. Similar complex geological processes formed the Cave of Collbato under it, with Iberian burials remains and an inner lake in which, according to records, a Nazi delegation searched for the Holy Grail.

To the North, the Natural Park of La Mola and Serra de l'Obac, with Monastir of Sant Llorenç on top from the XI century.

I could also see the outskirts of Terrassa and Sabadell to the South and further beyond, Tibidabo and the Communication Tower of Collserola, the Mediterranean Sea between the hills on the East side of Barcelona and again the sea in the background between Collserola and Garraf mountains to the West of the city.

With this calm countryside around me, it made sense to start our journey saying Thank You for living my life here and now, for my health, job, family and friends. This was the peace of mind and balance i needed to be prepared for the tremendous amount of joy and beauty we were to feel along the way, part of that joy was our return and the desire to visit the same places once more.
